We made it one year!
We moved into our house a year ago. And just in time before a global pandemic that would force us to be inside for a few months. I can’t tell you how many people told us we moved at the perfect time. I don’t want to imagine being in a tiny apartment with all 5 of us.
This house has helped us in so many ways and I’m so proud that we took the leap and made it happen. We struggled financially a few years into our marriage, so the fact that we made it a year is so exciting to me.
We have so much more space. We’re not confined to one room where we always see each other. We have multiple levels that allows us to spread out and not be with one another all the time. The extra space also gives us storage for all of our stuff.
The backyard has been amazing. We’re out there every day in the summer time. We have a little playhouse and water table that the kids love to play with.
The park that’s just around the block makes it easy for us to walk there without any strollers. We went on walks every single day last summer, mostly because that was the only thing we could do, but it was still so good for us. The boy’s school and our church are just right down the street. The neighborhood has many families and is really quiet.
Although we have yet to host a housewarming party because of the pandemic, which is one of the reasons we wanted a house so we could have more people over, we have had some family over for the kid’s birthdays. We also haven’t been able to hang out with any of our neighbors yet, but hopefully soon.
It’s been a really good year in our house and I’m excited for many more years in it.
